BARC work in progress

My latest project that the university has provided me is to work with BARC (Business Accountability, and Responsibly Center) it is a business based inside the university and I am to create a logo for them. For this project I pretty much have free reign over it as the client is unsure as to what they want, and so I decided to get my thinking cap on as I’m unsure of what this client expects.

Here are a couple of logo variations that I have made:

After having some input from my tutors and fellow peers I have taken two elements from two designs from these logos to create the logo that I will use to brand the business.

This is the final design for the logo:

The main aspect that I love about this logo is because it is simple,minimal and it sends a clear message to it’s audience. I feel that I have balanced out the aesthetic and sophistication in which all businesses try to achieve. The spiral can represent one or two things it can represent the mathematical and numerical side of the business which therefore comes under ‘Business Accountability’. There is also the golden spiral (also known as the Fibonacci spiral).

Geometric Faces

After going though a couple of ideas with my fellow students and tutors, I have decided to stick with my Geometric Faces idea. I shall be using a Rubix cube to portray each of the departments that is inside the university, on all of the 54 faces on all of the sides of the cube. I shall also be creating my typeface using Geometric Faces…and I will also play around with other geometric type faces that will complement my design ideas.
